L'ASTRAPE

The ASTRAPE is a sled dog club since 1987, and one of the first created in France.
It’s based in Font Romeu (France), in the French Pyrénées.
Firstly created by skiers with pulkas, the members step by step started competing with dogs
teams, from sprint to long distance competitions.
The members of the association has always competed in the highest international and
national level.
Within ASTRAPE, an organization committee has been created. Bruno PUGINIER, the
association president, several time French champion of 4 and 2 dogs team ; André NOUVEL,
competitor for more than 30 years in sled dogs team (in WSA and now in Open categories)
and now in skijoring ; François PAGNOUX (professional musher), competitor for more than
30 years in long distance category and stage races ; Olivier TRAULLE, specialist in skijoring
and pulka, vice European champion in 2007 ; and finally Paul Etienne VIDAL, competitor in
skijoring category and French champion in 2019.
This committee has shown its experience about organizing events with two successful
editions. It’s supported by the experience and competences acquired during those years
competing at the highest level in all kind of categories.
The ASTRAPE plays a major role in the National Association since its president is a member a
our association. One of our member is also the president of a regional league of the sled dog
national association.
